Today I had a workshop instead of a theatre director, a friend. I was working intead of him with this groud already few times. I worked on principles of clowning. Also today.
But today I also introduced something I call touch for a movement. You touch a partner with a palm, usually for the start on the upper back. You do not push and do not withdraw. Then you sense the micro-movements. Your partner starts to move as s/he needs. You go with partner alsways touching and gathering information from the touch. A moment comes when you sense there is a need for your intervention in the movement of the partner. And you go. But always accepting the information you get from the moving partner. And then comes a moment of melting where it becomes unclear of the source of the movement. It could be you transfering movement to the moving partner or the touch itself or all together…
The principles of such touch are congruent with prinicples of clowning. That was today’s gift from the group to me.
